I think you feel the most motion on the higher decks on the mega ships. You can google videos of it.

We’ve been on decks 2, 3, 7, and 8—no issues..

And we’ve never had issues being towards the front or back. In fact, we prefer avoiding being in the middle where it’s guaranteed you will have tons of people walking by your room.

There really is more motion in the back.
Agree above/below cabins the best but it’s also okay to be above/below something quiet like the spa. You don’t want to be below the buffet area (scraping chairs) or above/below the dance club (bass). Sometimes you can see that a room has extra balcony space because it’s on a curve or something. I also sometimes just google the cabin number because people will post reviews of specific cabins.
Higher floors usually more expensive. Very low floors you get engine noise.

Who loves NCL (good choice!).

I always pick a cabin that's not too far from the elevetors or stairs, in case there's a problem I can use stairs more easily (hopefully).

Then a cabin above or under cabins only.
The highest possible because the lowest will get you close to water with the noise ...

This poster hit all the main points. Beyond this is just personal preference which it’s hard to know before your first cruise.

First time cruising and have settled on a balcony suite for NCL. Now I need to choose the location.

There are options on I think decks 14 and higher. Do you go inthe middle? Near elevators? Lower or higher? Any must avoid spots?
