We will be starting tutoring (definitely math, possibly ela) for our rising 8th grader.

Trying to figure out best system to evaluate (math is likely going to be long term/end of high school).

Feel like we have good sources for prospects but it’s finding the right fit. DS is relatively easygoing, no behavioral issues. Recent math LD dx.


He had a few virtual sessions, for a specific purpose, with a really nice tutor that didn’t help much. She wouldn’t work for his next level in math

Had one session with a very experienced tutor (male, which is a plus) and at first thought it went well but DS is now lukewarm.

I feel like we need to give it more than one session…but not sure what makes sense. Any tips on figuring out the right fit?
