They either need to unionize schools or have teachers really represented in the PTAs or on the Boards.

It’s not a quick fix and different skills are needed to activate a union vs run one long term. But my kids go to union DC charters and the teachers deserve the right to collective bargaining IMO

My kid is at Capital City, and I am very glad they were able to form their union. I think it can only be good for the school for staff to have more of a voice in shaping the school, and being able to negotiate for employment policies that are important to them will help reduce turnover. However, they still have not reached their first contract, so there aren't really changes that have happened yet.

So it's Mundo, Cap City, DCI, and now Breakthrough. Can anyone comment on if unionizing is improving conditions in these schools?
