Math is a weak subject and I’m very happy the school is offering this to help my dc prepare for high school math. I’m just curious if anyone has insight to summer courses like this and how helpful they have been for your children. Also curious if there is a stigma on the students required to attend?
Our school has one, but DD will be at summer camp and unable to attend so I downloaded the syllabus and we’ve just been working there in the concepts together. That paired with the summer math work will suffice for us.
Stigma? Like your kid isn’t strong at math so they’ll be treated like they aren’t strong at math and as such given more support? My kid isn’t strong at math. I can’t imagine what sort of negative stigma could be associated with that. Not everyone just “gets it” some people have to work at it. What’s wrong with that?
