Dynamite program is great and literally everything that you describe.

Silver Stars is unsafe depending on the teacher.

Dynamite is much better. Also Xtreme a bit farther out.

Dynamite used to offer trial classes so you could try out a program and the make up policy was much more flexible than Silver Star (and you could enroll at any time). No idea if any of that is still true. Summer is a good time to try to get a class spot, they used to fill up fast but people will withdraw for the summer. They would invite kids from the rec classes to team classes if they showed promise (for artistic at least)

Dynamite sent a homegrown kid to the TnT world championship years ago (he’s now in college and on the national team)

Dynamite and Fairland are likely going to be closest for you. I don't know too much about Dynamite, but Fairland has elite level trampolinists. One of the athletes won a medal at world championships in the last couple of years and was on the 2024 Olympic team.

I’ve heard a little about Dynamite and would love any thoughts on that or other places we should check out. We’re looking for a place with a fun, positive vibe, but one that also offers some real skill-building and progression. Thx

Any team is going to be based on tryouts or invitation only. You can't just up and join a team.

What sort of consistency and structure is lacking at Silver Stars? Or alternatively, what sort of consistency and structure are you expecting/looking for? Is this your child's first go at trampoline and/or gymnastics?

Thanks, and I do understand teams are invitational. We moved here from out of state where she took artistic gymnastics from ages 7-8. She asked to continue after we moved, but didn't enjoy bars/beam as much and wanted to focus on tumbling. Her old studio was much more inviting, same girls were in the classes, everyone knew her name. At Silver Stars, there seems to be a different instructor every other week. I have asked twice for feedback, but since instructors change so much, they don't have much to share. Just looking for something that feels a bit less like an assembly line. I do agree it's not the cleanest.

10+ years ago, we tried both, and preferred Dynamite, because it was much cleaner. We used Dynamite for many years, in their rec program, not competitive, and it was great. Haven't been back to Silver Stars since, so can't comment on how it's run now.

I can only give you a non-rec, which is to not go to Capitol City Circus. The instructors are nice but they don't do a good job progressing students and the vibe is clearly more for adult hobbyists. They started a small gymnastics program for kids as well and I was enthusiastic but they have almost no equipment and it just doesn't seem professional to me. We were hoping for an alternative to the Little Gym that was more convenient than the suburbs but this isn't it.

We are looking at some Northern VA programs -- I'll come back and post with reviews if/when I have some, if that's helpful to anyone.
