As someone whose living is dependent on federal government research funding if I could go back and do it all over I would have become a nurse practitioner or CRNA instead of earning a Ph.D. in science.

The healthcare field has a lot of low pay jobs. If you exclude executives and high performing doctors, this field does not pay well.

Not allllll the jobs, but will make whatever are left to humans be that much more competitive. So getting hired will be either nepotism, or DEI, or just random luck.

Seems nobody hires due to ability anymore from everything one hears.

We have an aging population, so that makes sense.

They will also depress wages in the healthcare field by importing nurses and doctors.

I'm afraid to say that's true and this is in part due to an aging population. However, healthcare sucks. I worked in healthcare as a biostatistician and I am glad I left that industry and never going back.

I work in healthcare and yes, I don't suggest getting into most healthcare roles unless you have that desire to help and care for others. That said, I have friends who never did any bedside or patient care and work as nurses in IT or quality control and things like that. So there are other options, though obviously they are not as abundant.

True that robots will never provide real care. Physicians can’t either now that their pharma bosses require them to follow charts that dictate which drugs to prescribe.

I was looking at the latest job report and yet again all new jobs seem to be in healthcare..And it has been this way for a long time now it seems. The economy is still "strong" but all opening seems to be in the health care sector followed by education.

I feel like to work in healthcare and education you at least need to someone who "care" and want to help. The vast majority of us are not this way.

Is this the future? Healthvate healthcare healthcare.... And further when you further drill through the complete report you a lot of those new jobs are in the service sector and low paying as well
Sure we have a 4.2% unemployment rate, but I feel like politicians (both parties) are not painting a true picture of the economy.
