For B Meets, I suspect it takes a lot of organization and prodding the other team to share times/ensure all kids who are on the heat sheet will actually be there. There are hard deadlines to register for the B Meets. OKM collapses 9-12 kids (girls and boys) and 13U kids (girls and boys, although those seem to naturally fall into girl heats and boy heats) into heats by time. We use the same officials as A meets and they are very fast and efficient meets.

Do you also consolidate the 9-12s in time trials?

Middle ground. We print cards and for returning kids it has best times from last year. CoC lines them up generally based on times but not in pre-determined heats. That way you don't need to worry about consolidating heats and dealing with empty lanes.

In this scenario, it would be referred to as "heats on demand," where the clerk of course is responsible for reviewing each swimmer's time and assigning them to appropriate heats and lanes. However, in cases of bad weather, a heat sheet might be a more efficient solution. If the clerk of course notices multiple heats with several no-shows, they could have the discretion to combine heats. While this approach could streamline the process, it also has the potential to cause confusion. Personally, I would prefer having a heat sheet, especially in adverse weather conditions. If it’s raining, it would save children from waiting in the cold while clerks and representatives organize heats. That said, it’s also frustrating to see two heats of 8-and-under freestyle with only 1-2 participants each due to no-shows.s.

We don't Last year for the first time they gave us a list of names for everyone in a particular age group and stroke. Ex. 9-10 Girls a list of 12 names. It was a big help in that it let us figure a total number of heats. Less late entrants.

This year there is supposed to be absolutely no day of entries. There will be scratches but it often doesn't change the number of heats.

Do you mean do we seed the meet by times? Yea we do.

I was curious to know if many pools use heat sheets for time trials. I believe it would help expedite the process, even if there are some no-shows for individual events?
