And if she's poking fun at your tattoo, well, that's what teens do. She's not being mean. You can always ask her to stop.

Separately, you need to grow a thicker skin. Teens can, and will, do much nastier and more dangerous things that that.

My favorite quote is the famous Dr. Seuss quote, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened". That quote resonated with my life so much that I have a tattoo of it. Well. DD (13) has been going around the house these past few days singing a song that goes "Don't smile because it happened, baby, cry because it's over". This has to be targeted, right? I mean, what a weird thing to put in a song! My daughter has quite normal music taste, so I can only imagine her singing such a lyric to, as the kids would say, throw shade at me. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid, LOL. What do you think?
