I make one often! I dice red onions (finely), maybe cherry tomatoes if I have them, jalapenos (but you can skip if you don't like spice), and chop some cilantro. Rinse chickpeas and add them, along with the tuna. Season with lime juice and black pepper. You could also sprinkle some good salt, but I find it salty enough

Thanks, pp. that does sound good. There is a chickpea salad that somehow does end up tasting sort of like tuna salad that I’ve had a vegetarian restaurant and a health food store.
I mean, texture and flavor wise those are quite different. What specific texture/flavor profile are you going for.
For chickpeas you could roast them to partial crispness with some seasonings and a little oil and the crush and toss them with some mayo/sauce and maybe akme finely chopped celery or pepper.
