Had this at my daughter's friend's vegan wedding:

They referred to it as vegan tuna and I enjoyed it so much I asked for the recipe. It's delicious

There's a lot of ways you could go with this. I like lemon pepper on chickpeas.

Hummus on bread. Done.
If you want it fishy smelling, add some fishy smelling ingredients.

I make one often! I dice red onions (finely), maybe cherry tomatoes if I have them, jalapenos (but you can skip if you don't like spice), and chop some cilantro. Rinse chickpeas and add them, along with the tuna. Season with lime juice and black pepper. You could also sprinkle some good salt, but I find it salty enough

I have an artichoke heart "tuna" salad I've been meaning to try, and a can of artichoke hearts gathering dust in my cabinet because I just can't be bothered. Someone try it

+1

I love the chickpea “tuna salad” at Busboys & Poets, and this is the key to it.

I like this one: https://sarahsvegankitchen.com/recipes/classic-chickpea-salad/

I never liked fish so I can't speak to making it seem fishy.

This. I've added nori and kelp flakes. Along with that and mayo I'll usually add some good quality Dijon mustard, mayo, red onion, and capers.

Thanks, pp. that does sound good. There is a chickpea salad that somehow does end up tasting sort of like tuna salad that I’ve had a vegetarian restaurant and a health food store.

I mean, texture and flavor wise those are quite different. What specific texture/flavor profile are you going for.

For chickpeas you could roast them to partial crispness with some seasonings and a little oil and the crush and toss them with some mayo/sauce and maybe akme finely chopped celery or pepper.

Can anyone recommend a good chickpea version of tuna salad? Thank you!
