Subject: Last day of school feelings
I bawled my eyes out at the little ceremony for the last day of my daughter’s Montessori preschool. And her 6th grade promotion ceremony. Somehow I only teared up for a few seconds at her high school graduation! I think I am more focused on how much I will miss her when she heads off to college in the fall. It goes so quickly.

Yeah, I feel kind of sad every year when school ends, especially knowing that I’ll blink, and summer break will be over, and they’ll be another school year older. This year feels especially poignant because my youngest is finishing 5th grade & heading to MS. We’ve had kids at that ES for the past 11 years, and now, never again.
But I’m thankful that my kids are happy, healthy, and developing as they should.

Oh OP. Thank you for letting me know I wasn't a total weirdo for my eyes watering profusely when my youngest child's kindergarten class sang a few songs for parents earlier in the month.

It's always emotional to note another finished yr of school 
U have one heading into 8th and another to 10th. I don't know that I'd say it flew by but I'm happy that they are at a point where I can have a conversation about history, what's going on in the world, we can watch non cartoons together and I can leave them on their own for hours.
It's a nice feeling to know they are self sufficient in at least being able to survive lol for me, I'm excited that they are becoming their own persons and having a relationship with them as a human being v a provider. I worry incessantly about them but the difference is that they have my confidence as well.
It's about goddamned time!!!! Hahahaha.

Not high school yet but boy do I get the kindergarten feeling. My daughter is in Montessori and entering her last year in her primary classroom next year. I can't figure out how that happened because I swear she just started yesterday. Enjoy proud mama!

Eight years ago, I found myself shedding unexpected tears over the simple act of washing my child's kindergarten circle time towel for the last time. I came here to post about it. Today, it’s the final day of middle school, and in just a few hours, I'll officially have a high schooler. No tears this time—just a proud, slightly bewildered smile. It’s stunning how quickly the years have flown by. Anyone else embarking on the high school journey?
