The Strasbourg area is really beautiful and the villages along the route de vin are charming.

I would stay north and head into Belgium, where you can do some cool bike trips or head to the Netherlands.

This, no need for multiple stop that time of year. Beach club all day, nice dinner, early morning walk or small excursion. Rinse and repeat.

Also, unless your kids have spent lots of time in Paris, I’d add more time there.

OP here. Thanks to PPs for these suggestions- would love to hear thoughts on whether these regions are likely to appeal to tween/ young teen.

Annecy would be perfect that time of year, stay near the lake a few miles south of the city, rent a car, explore the region, fly back out of Geneva.

We have a destination wedding in the Champagne region of France next July and we'd like to add on a fun 10-14 days with a tween and young teen. We haven't taken the kids to France, but we all love Sicily, Crete, Turkey, and the Basque region of Spain to give you a sense of what we like. Our best vacations involve 4 days in a city and then splitting our time between two other destinations. Nature, beaches, interesting towns, and shopping/eating are are top activities. If we spend the whole time in France, I think we'd spend about 4 days in Paris, 4 in Champagne, and then where should we spend the next week?
