Its trashy and i hate it. I wish they would remove all the stupid clutter off the roads too. Old boxes with apartment guides, old political signs, the stupid "empathy" and "kindness" crap, the painted wooden pallets laid up against trees. It just all looks so trashy and just shows just how needy and insecure people are who clutter the world with this bs.

I kind of like the HS grad ones. Its a special time and I know which kids are leaving us next year. Pre school? birthdays? But if they make someone happy go ahead! I guess I do not like the ones that advertise college acceptances though.

I think of this all started during Covid when people were desperate for any kind of celebration. Like most things that started then it’s been hard to give it up.

The signs say where they are graduating from, not going to.

I like knowing about my neighbor's milestones. I'm even happy about graduating from elementary school.

Those are generally not put up by the parents but by someone else from the school. If it stays for days/weeks, yes that's because the family wanted it there but in general these are put up by the PTA/parent's group. We took ours down immediately.

Pinterest moms love crafty type projects.

Often people buy these signs as a gift for their kids but it's also a school club fundraiser to sell them above cost (mainly for seniors). Print shops give a better deal on bulk orders.

I'm stuck with two that our PTA gifted during Covid. They placed them in our lawn bc we didn't pick them up. We live in a condo where they are not allowed.

They are not earth friendly at all. But they are fun for many people. Like a Darth Vader Christmas lawn ornament. Embrace the dominant culture.

I only ever see the school ones (high school graduation, college acceptance, advertising the play) and the political ones. Not my cup of tea but whatever.

You need to live in an HOA or a small town that enforces the sign ordinance.

We walk around the neighborhood often. I enjoy the flowers, flowering trees, changing seasons; holiday decorations and lights that are up through the dark winter, and yes, all the signs you describe. Yes, there are lots, but how nice to celebrate...whatever! 5th grade graduation is not a trophy, it's a celebration of the kid living there growing up and moving on to middle school! Just like Happy Birthday! Oh man, are you saying is it a, "everyone gets a trophy for turning 6 and having ANOTHER BDAY"

Just me, but I'd prefer these celebration signs any day over political signs, of any type. Celebrate on, neighbors!!

I was out walking the dog today and SO many houses have yard signs: 5th grade graduation, Little League all stars, happy birthday, yay for the HS graduate, baby girl was born, house coming to makret soon, for sale, support of federal workers (and other assorted political messages). On my street, about one-third of the homes had signs!
