Update: our child was recommended for both language arts and math. A paper letter came home today with a permission slip.

LII services at our ES was a specific reading group and some math worksheets in class, there were no pull outs. The only thing that LII was good for was that it showed that our child was on the AART and Teachers radar for advanced services which might be helpful for his AAP chances in 3rd grade. And even then we were not too worried because we knew we only wanted services for MS because we were staying in the LI program at his ES.

AAP classes in MS have been great. I have no clue if they are that different then the Honors classes in MS, it sounds liek he is reading similar books as his friends in Honors classes in English. There are some different assignments but that could be a teacher to teach thing and not an AAP vs Honors thing. We appreciate that there was some sort of screening for AAP because Honors is open enrollment and that made me nervous for what classes would look like.

The AART does pull-outs for extra worksheets - -It's really not a big deal.

Probably a letter for Level II services.

One of my child’s classmates mom said she got some letter regarding AAP (they are in first grade) for next year… perhaps some separation of groups etc… Any idea what this is and if others got?
