If you use xylitol like sugar in baking it might but few grams in gum is actually good for your teeth.

xylitol is a toxin.
Humans used to use oxidized lead in their wine to sweeten it. Imagine the toxins we use these days with all the artificial sweeteners.

But most everything we eat now has plastic in it. Microplastics are a thing. Mostly from clothing/laundry, but also food packaging, etc.
