DCPS PK3 & PK4/ ECE is great all across the city. Better than most charters with small class sizes and at least 2 staff per class. You really can’t go wrong. And more experienced/certified teachers.

Van Ness PK3 only matched in boundary students this year. I don't really understand why you're looking for a school further from where you live.

Unless you're interested in specialized programming (like Montessori or dual language), none of the schools available to you in Capitol Hill or east of the river are going to be appreciably better than Van Ness.

not the strongest for upper grades does not always mean preK is not nice. id go tour your new nearby dcps options and check out the strength of the admin etc. because being nearby with minimal commute for preK can be really nice.

Van Ness is good/fine for preK
