+1

Also, be safe! After multiple soaking rains and winds, it's not uncommon for trees to come down. I realize the risk is super small but just keep an eye out.

Do the bears den trail in Bluemont! Pretty easy hike with a great view and rocks to clamber on. We always stop for lunch at Bluemont General Store on the way home and eat it on their front porch.

Scott Run off of Georgetown Pike also has some elevation and gravelish paths so should be fine too

Riverbend is likely flooded too but it's a good hike. Seconding Sugarloaf and Burke Lake. Sky meadow is great.

Have you ever been to Jug Bay? We love it there.

One can hike around the lake at Burke Lake Park. There is a gravel/paved path if the other paths are too muddy.

Where are your favorite hikes with 7-10 year olds that might not be washed out given the rain? We were hoping to go to Great Falls but I see the park is closed today and I’m guessing it will be soggy and potentially closed tomorrow. The Maryland side doesn’t look much better; the website says parts of the tow path have fallen trees and lots of mud. Anything similar and in the same general area that might be more navigable? We don’t typically get such mild temperatures in June and it would be great for hiking if not for the rain!
