Canada - the Canadian Rockies in addition to the places mentioned. Two caveats: I'm not sure what condition Jasper is in after the terrible fire a while back and sometime there are wild fires that spread smoke elsewhere, but it's usually cool and so beautiful.

Alaska - we found it so cool and refreshing compared to the East Coast last summer. If you do a land trip, I recommend using Anchorage only as a gateway and renting a car to travel to parts south and north. The cruise south to Vancouver through the Inside Passage (especially Glacier Bay National Park) is also very scenic with stops in interesting (albeit touristy) places along the way.

Upstate New York is also usually cool -- anywhere in the Adirondacks in particular.

Montreal was perfect for our family last July. It's not guaranteed to be "cooler", but the weather was quite pleasant during our 5 day trip. Can't beat how close it is as well.

My family really enjoyed a combo Montreal and Quebec summer vacation years ago.

A highlight in Montreal was Cirque du Soleil's Big Top show.

We saw Luzia many years ago and just loved it. It is back in summer 2025. Highly recommend it!

Anchorage! Stay in town for exploring but rent a car to drive out of town to look around. You don’t have to go far or book yourself to see really cool stuff.
