I’m sure the STA kids were pumped but the 800 isn’t Quincy’s race. I’m sure a ton of kids would beat him in a 5k. If you can beat him in a 400, that would be special.

It would be far worse for him if he was scared to compete. Who knows where he is in his training cycle. He could easily be training to peak at a different time. Either way he’s getting everyone’s best effort. The best will relish the competition knowing they need it to keep improving. Pulling for him.

Way to go, anonymous poster! What an amazing fact that a kid can lose a race! If you've heard top athletes talking about their experience, you would understand that everyone can lose some. It's not about winning every time, it is about being consistent and working hard. How about you race that kid and tell us how it goes?

I think he may have lost at the Penn Relays against another kid that is also Olympic caliber (and two years older).
