My rudimentary understanding is that quantum computing will make all forms of encryption worthless because it'll be able to cut through it like a hit knife through butter. Bitcoin relies in harder and harder math problems to solve in order to mine crypto, but quantum could solve those types of problems in matter of minutes. How can anyone ensure the viability of blockchain and encryption with the advent of quantum computing? Look at all of the quantum computing stocks rocketing at the moment.
The larger picture here is how does it not make the entire idea of having a crypto stockpile incredibly stupid? Won't it all be worthless when quantum comes around and can make all forms of old encryption worthless?
