Just wear the dress you would have worn and add a cashmere wrap. If you don’t sell them, they’re all over up there. We were on Nantucket last weekend, and it was warmer than in dc. I’d also assume they’ll have a tent w/ heaters

Wear leggings under a long dress and bring a cardigan. This news sucks more for the bride than you. You figured out how to post this.... just google ideas.

Worry more about footwear and mud. Mud is your real worry.

Pashmina or cashmere wrap. There are lots of places on the Cape that sell cashmere wraps in lots of colors for this very purpose.

In the Cape's defense it was warmer there yesterday than it is here. And the weather forecasts are notoriously wrong. They will probably have heaters in the tent if needed. We had them on reserve for my DDs Cape Cod wedding but didn't end up needing them.

A jacket

Last fall we went to a wedding in Maine with outdoor ceremony and tented reception. It was about the same weather. Most women wore typical cocktail type dresses with a coat or shawl over them. I had a cashmere wrap in the tented reception as well. There were heaters in the tent, and it was comfortable.

You can layer a blazer, moto jacket, or sweater if you prefer that or if you don’t have a long coat.

Footwear - might be a good week to wear flats. Mud and heels are no bueno!

Maybe not a dress? Jumpsuit with sweater? Dress with coat? It’s going to be cold.

Do you have a work blazer that you could wear over whatever dress you had originally planned for?

And wear fleece leggings under your maxi dress.

We have been told the attire is casual “sundresses and maxi dresses” but what on earth to wear to a cape cod wedding when the forecast is high of 60 and possible rain?!?

My only long sleeved dresses are either extremely work-attire or black velvet.
