I found it really weird that there's not much information of how to interpret the IRW score online. What is the point of giving a standardized test and not giving results, or giving no explanation of the results?

FWIW, my son scored 8 on both categories. He generally scores high pass proficient on the SOL’s. His score isn’t under test results, but I found it under documents.

Idk, one of my kids took it last year and we never got results. She usually aces standardized tests, so she would be a good ruler to measure against.
My 8th grader AAP kid scored 6 on both categories. She’s mildly dyslexic and really struggles with spelling and word choice, but always scores pass advanced on SOLs. Take that for what you will.

Anyone know how to interpret them? Is a score of 8 in each category equivalent to a 600? or do most kids get 8 in each category?
