That’s wholly different from four separate shooting incidents in one night across the city. Again, not saying it’s okay that four people were shot. Just that it’s not okay to leave out key details.

This was a shootout in front of an apartment building. Sure, the shooter and all the victims knew each other, but having a shoot out outside, what could go wrong?

Didn’t a man in DC die from a gunshot wound he sustained INSIDE HIS OWN HOUSE, from a gun fired outside? He wasn’t the intended target, the shooter wasn’t aiming for his house. So yeah, 4 people arguing over a woman, where the argument starts in Woodbridge and carries over all the way into Alexandria in the middle of the night resulting in a shoot out in front of an apartment building is a HUGE problem. Those bullets could have gone anywhere, hit any one.

You are part of the problem.

+2. Doesn’t really matter if they knew one another, it’s more about how they settle any conflict, in this case with 30+ shell casings. Who does that? The people that live around here, apparently.

its literally the title of the article so take it up with alexnow who published it.

Now how should they title their next article? "Six people shot two separate incidents in the the city of Alexandria last night?" Does that make sense to you? Is it more soothing?

Alxnow was recently sold and the level of quality has plummeted. Not that it was very high to begin with.

Hiding news especially crime stories is the new "news".

Also interesting watching the wording changing. "Unexplained deaths," or "suspicious deaths" (usually this ends up being homicide or murder a few days later but then no one updates the story. This helps keep the crime quiet and keeps the actual numbers low on the cities crime reports. I've been watching this happen for some time now.

Where is the new mayor?

What a stupid comment!

The police recovered 30 shell casings. Wrap your head around that.

Surprised Alxnow published that, under the new writer seems a lot like the zebra press - only positive stories and just copy and pasting city press releases.

I grew up in Alexandria, and Arlandria was a lot rougher in the 80s and had more shootings. Not that that makes it better or excuses things now, but I hate these next door posts that imply the crime in those areas is brand new. The Arlandria crime used to spread all the way down to Del Ray and the gritty Potomac yards area, too. It’s all much improved now.

As far as the new mayor, it seemed obvious that she lacked experience and was just using this as a stepping stone to run for congress. Between covering up for her husband (drove drunk and took out the majestic streatery and got off, had some sketchy things in his past, etc) and never standing up to anything or introducing anything new when she was on council, I was mad that she was steamrolled through. I expect she’ll actually be pretty weak.

Insane take PP. The article was very clear, and no one "left out the details." SMH.

Two more people were shot at the fountains condos last night too. So at least 6 people were shot last night in the City of Alexandria is that better for you? Acceptable? Or should that too be reported differently for your comfort?

I'm a concerned resident of the City and these these stories are getting way to common. I thought the new mayor was going to tackling the crime issue head on but that hasn't happened at all yet. What I do know is that a substantial amount of residents are moving because of the crime and density issues. Our neighbors are being offered the same rent for the next two year if they sign now which is 6 months early from their lease renewal just to stay. I honestly feel like I'm the minority here that's concerned. Anyone else?
