Off-topic, but just delay/avoid kids and/or marriage and you can actually get ahead faster than with a $300K salary.

I live with my parents, make $150K and, according to many DCUM threads on the subject, save more than most people earning $300-400K.

My job is “managing” my investments which earns between $400K-$5M passive in any given year.

Partner, consulting firm.

HHI will be just under $1m this yr. Small business owner + tech.

Exec heading consistently profitable division in a creative industry, $400K base but can make $800K total comp in a good year.

Also tech. Non revenue generating. Adjacent to legal. Director level. Without my RSUs vesting this year it is $350K. With RSUs vesting this year it is $450K.

Lawyer, tech company

Tech, product marketing. Frankly all functions in my big tech company pay close or above 300k at a director level and above

Do it, I make $253K but also $15K from real estate and aim to make an additional $40K moonlighting in the next year.

I work in tech. But not as an engineer, I'm in a central function.
