+1. I find it totally hilarious that some posters on here think middle schoolers are not doing drugs. Or that there are not drugs being sold at school, after school, etc…

Drug use by high school age children is way more prevalent than by middle school age children.

And most teens aren't taking drugs on Thursday afternoon at the bus stop. It's more sn evenibg and weekend thing.

So, yeah, presuming drug use near to J-R or MacArthur? Sure. But for a middle school, you are going to have to provide me data of a meaningful issue before I just presume it exists.

How are schools supposed to keep kids away from drugs when they are not on campus? Work on your relationship with your kids, talk to them about drug use, figure out how to ensure the kids are able to come to you and not worry about the ramifications if they get in over their heads.

Do you have knowledge of such? You realize the other places she listed are high schools and Hardy is a middle school. Not clear what her list is based on

I've had multiple kids at Hardy AND have a part-time role there.

I expect some kids there have taken drugs because statistics suggest that. But even then, that doesn't mean they took drugs at school.

Where do you see parents defending drug use? I definitely don’t see that.

But I agree - Tenleytown is ridiculous after school. Kids vaping weed while walking to the metro and while gathered near the Target entrance.

we As parents, we are responsible for drug use, fighting, and bullying inside and outside of schools. Tenleytown is always with kids doing drugs and hiding in the subway and Target garages. The same thing in Hardy, MacArthur, where the directors and parents are waiting for? someone to be hospitalized for it.
They need to focus on those who are giving drugs to other kids. They are out of control, and seeing parents defend drug use is critical. They need to put these irresponsible events to the test.police dogs It would be a good option to prevent drugs from being introduced into the school. Parents should unite and do something now.
