Hi All! We are considering moving in-boundary for Eaton Elementary. The locations works well for various personal reasons. Our kiddo is 4 years-old and has an ASD diagnosis. Kiddo is doing well in a private daycare/preschool but the transition to a “big-kid” school will likely be a challenge. So I’m wondering, how have SN parents found Eaton? Is it common to see kids at Eaton receiving additional support or is my kid going to feel like “the only one being pulled out”? If I ask for help making social stories about the school day, how will this be received? If kiddo finds the cafeteria overwhelming, are they willing to do a “lunch bunch” or something similar? I am aware of the IEP process, my question is more about the school culture. Thanks in advance!
