One school can be great for one special needs kid, terrible for another. Generalizations are not helpful.

19:18 here (asked about Wood Acres). Thanks PP. Hoping others will chime in. We live in bounds already.

Why not?

Please tell us why not? we are interested in buying in the woodacres district. Also, why NO to Wyngate and Ashburton?

Ex Wyngate parent here. DS sensory and ASD. School admin was a total nightmare. No support. No team approach. We felt harassed IMO. I know another family also voted with its feet and moved along.
Heard from SN parents of kid now in college that they faced similar poor treatment and obstacles during their time as well.

DS has friends who attended Wood Acres. I know 1 parent is still very upset over treatment of DC. I have no first hand experience with Wood Acres.

Yes, I'd like to know why not Ashburton too. My child will likely start PEP there in the fall.

Bethesda Elementary, Westbrook, Somerset -- all good
Bradley Hills -- not so good.

My dc is going to Ashburton this fall. Can you please elaborate why you said "definitely not Ashburton"?

wanted to revive this thread as we are now also moving to Bethesda. If the OP is still around, did you enroll in BE and do you like it?

anyone elses input on the OPs original question would be very much appreciated.

I am going to move in Bethesda area. Which elementary school has a good reputation for the special needs, especially sensory, socially-awkward kids?
