I think CC disputes are limited to products not delivered or services not rendered, not the quality of the services provided.

Disputing a charge would be unrelated to whatever your current balance is on the card. If you have a $0 balance (since you paid it off or transferred it to a different card), and win the dispute, you will have a negative balance on the card and can call when the statement posts and have them send you a check to get you back to $0. I have had that happen once before when I had a big return on a card I don't use much.

Oh and I have emailed the first clinic a few times about the charges and the grief and they haven't responded.

I would open a dispute with the credit card first.

So I have discover and paid in full because the urgent care clinic we took our pup to mandated an upfront card and charged before services were performed. They refunded me 1k of the amount because I took my pup to another clinic because she was only getting sicker under their care. They did things they shouldn't have done and I have medical records and statements from the second urgent care clinic to back it up. So I have a BT offer on another card and the current 0 percent APR transfer on the card I paid the vet clinic is expiring soon. If I transfer out the balance the new card before disputing it/or lawsuit would it affect my legal recourse or charge dispute any? I'm still trying to decide wether to sue or open a dispute with my credit card. If I open the dispute with the credit card it could be for the full amount though I do see some charges on there that I wonder about and I think I have been overcharged. Despite that the whole thing took an emotional/physical/medical toll on my family.
