Absolutely bonkers that Pelosi gave a guy with only months to live the Oversight ranking member position.

Connolly was a good man, no doubt. But Democrats are absolutely atrocious at bringing up the next generation of leaders.

Connolly was a terrific congressman for NoVa and one of the biggest advocates for the fed workforce, this is a huge blow.

Strategically, Youngkin should give the local Democratic candidates time to sabotage each other's campaigns and wait for the local NoVA economy to stabilize a bit.

I've been following local politics. I think it was expected sooner rather than later. Ugly attacks on one another already: Walkinslaw vs Pekarsky.

Checked Pekarsky's x account prior to the announcement of Connolly passing. She's been attacking "old men" endorsing Walkinslaw.

All of this. Really a dedicated public servant. He did not look well in recent weeks, but did not expect this quite so soon.

Gerry was behind the CCT mountain bike trail: a 40 mile trail through FFX for mountain biking (and others).

For that, I’m grateful to him.

Did you know he was also active in local amateur theater?

I was shocked too when I saw the news! I didn't realize how sick he was. I have met him through work and he was a good guy. I hope he gets the recognition his family deserves.

I am shocked, didn't know cancer was so bad. He is the first and only congressman I ever voted since I started voting in 2008. RIP you will be miss, meet you a few times you were a great person.
