Plenty of creeks in the area with deep water holes. Don't take them now after all the rains when the waterways are running high and dangerous.

Googled "Scott's Run water quality" out of curiousity and the first thing that comes up describes how it originates from Tyson's, so... not great water quality. The other thing affecting the water quality—unleashed pets.

Nope. That’s illegal. It’s a reservoir for drinking water and dogs are not allowed to swim.

PSA: Don’t take your dog swimming in the Potomac. It may look flat and calm on the surface, but there are dangerous hidden currents, underwater snags and other hazards that regularly claim lives.

I know a bunch of creeks closer but my dog barely takes his feet off the bottom in those.

I'm new to the area and looking for good spots near bethesda to safely let a dog swim. It doesn't need to be a big body of water, but deep enough that he can swim versus just splash around. Is there anything like that nearby?
