Last year I stood on Pennsylvania kinda near the Reagan Building (lol). It wasn't that crowded, we found shade, and if we'd needed bathrooms we could have gone to Reagan (it does have a security screening) or a nearby hotel. It was towards the end of the route so it took a while for things to get to us and some marchers seemed less enthusiastic than I imagine they were on 14th St...I was texting with a friend who was watching in Logan Circle and floats were taking about half an hour to get from her to me. But it was calmer than earlier in the parade. I don't know how it will be this year though.

The Takoma one has a ton of kids and a festival afterwards. Much smaller and more chill than World Pride in DC, which will be huge. Just depends what you're looking for.

This year is World Pride in DC, with a potential total crowd over several days of up to 1 million. There's a march this year in addition to the parade. I don't love crowds but we're going to the march to speak out. Just bring sunscreen, water, and hats!

There’s a kids parade and you can walk there from the Metro, although the actual Metro ride might be long from your location!

We’re in Shirlington DC is pretty effortless for us. Both of her parents work in the city it’s NBD for us to go in to town.

Where do you live? There's a big parade in DC, buts smaller towns and such are starting to do their own as well.

I’m sorry about the weird disclaimers. I’m putting this in this forum because I thought it might be helpful in getting real answers. By now, I understand topics come up and recent posts and just didn’t wanna field weirdness. If this is better in (pre)tweens or general parenting, please say so?

Hi, my 10 year old would like to go to the Pride Parade this year. Any suggestions on where/when to take them? The only times I’ve been I was with friends or on a patio. I don’t want them to get worn out being there too long, but also want a good spot so they can see. We aren’t sure if others in our circle will attend and I’m trying to plan out our day.

They are wanting to go to support others, close family, friends, and are questioning themselves (none of that is up for debate. That’s not the question and I’m not concerned about it.) again this isn’t a discussion on appropriateness of their going, more on logistics.
