Hudson Valley, Maine or Berkshires.

With that short amount of time, I think it’s an appropriate question to ask. Why is leaving the country a criteria?

Seems pretty obvious why when you look at the date. Personally I don't have any desire to leave town- this is my city, f--k that guy and his fascist parade. But I understand the sentiment, and it's really not that hard or time consuming, plenty of options within 3 hour flight time.

Ottawa is often overlooked. There are direct flights from DC.

thanks! (the prior threads about Toronto have not been encouraging)

Flying all day sucks and if the weather changes it's a crapshoot. Do something local. I love the Salamander in Middleburg or the Pendry in Baltimore, MD.

An option you didn't list is flying to Buffalo and driving to Niagara Falls/Niagara on the Lake; I've done that and had a good time!

yes, adding it to the list. Thanks!

Current considerations (based on United shortish nonstop flights): Puerto Rico, Quebec (would have to fly to Montreal - but Montreal is sold out that weekend for racing event), Toronto, St Thomas, Burlington and drive to Canada. It would be just for 2 full days, 2 or 3 nights, no kids, at least good food and somewhere to walk around. Oddly enough, we've never been to Canada.
