This does nothing to prevent that. They are just taking it away. Your very rare case has no bearing here, but have you tried reporting them for fraud?

You knew that this fraud was being committed and you did nothing, so instead you prefer that they take it away from children and sick people?

It's impossible to give a straight answer with this administration. The current Social Security fiasco provides a good example. They made it impossible to file claims over the phone by installing an AI that never transfers elderly retirees to an agent and just randomly recites unrelated summaries of social security law. When they try to go in-person, they have to drive to an open office then wait 4 hours. Anyone not willing to navigate that will have their claim denied. So I'm sure Medicaid is going to make some pretty creative AI based "hoops" to jump through then claim the huge numbers of people who don't get benefits are "fraudsters" who had their claims denied.
