If it makes you feel any better OP, I’m in the reverse situation where I’m the pretty girl and the other girl constantly takes digs at me and snubs me because her husband has a harmless crush on me. It’s frustrating and isn’t fair, but a lot of women just can’t deal with other women in a mature and kind manner.


Oh man, I was friends with one of these girls in college. Flirted with everyone’s boyfriend then complained nobody liked her because “it’s harmless! You’re insecure!”

While I believe everyone is free to do whatever they want, I don’t stay friends with women who don’t abide by girl code. If someone’s husband had a crush on me, I would avoid him entirely and if I was around, pick my nose or talk about my period or whatever.

Can’t you just avoid her?

I have a frenemy who takes digs at me. I try to avoid her but she is in 2 of my friend groups. I try to avoid her as much as possible. I’m not sure how obvious it is that we dislike one another.

I don’t have any “frenemies” because people I don’t get along with or who don’t like me are, by definition, not my friends. Which is fine. Live and let live. If someone snubs me, I don’t notice, and I carry on with my day. I say hello to everyone, and I converse with my friends or new acquaintances who seem friendly.

Life is a lot easier when you are not LOOKING for drama, OP.

Is this someone you're obligated to interact with? You "succeed" by recognizing that she's taking digs at you because something about you is pushing her buttons. Lean into it---she's showing you her weakness.
