Isn’t this for 2025-2026 school year? My DS is in 7th grade.
These are the requirements for class of 2029. I doubt there will be many changes for the class of 2030
If MCAP Algebra is hard for your 7th grader, he should probably I'll take Algebra 1 in 8th grade. Calculus is coming before you know it, and you don't want to be unprepared.

Anonymous wrote:Anyone who has experienced this with their kids? My DS is good at math, Algebra 1 has been easy but somehow thinks he failed the MCAP. Says he forgot the stuff they did at the beginning of the year.
Anonymous wrote:My kid might have failed it. He says he didn’t remember anything on section 3 of the test. He is freaking out that he will have to retake Algebra 1 in school next year. Does anyone know anything?

FWIW my kid said one part of the test was incredibly hard but the other sections were fine. Do they do experimental sections where they try to understand whether to include questions on the test? I remember that from taking the SAT back in the last millennium.
