In the article, they said that Seattle schools received a mystery grant/bribe that was contingent on using Amplify, so they managed to push it through without getting the typical board approval.
Knowing DCPS, I would not at all be surprised if the same thing happened, that person from downtown knew, and couldn't face teachers as a result.
Shameful. This feels like such a scandal to me.
