I'm taking my lead here by how people in Syria (from what I can tell) are thinking about him. And he doesn't seem to be going after Israel - even though Israel is bombing parts of Syria.

What a shocker...the type of "liberal" who has no problem smearing college kids protesting a genocide, undoubtedly pushed the lie about 40 beheaded Jewish babies (while ignoring the slaughter of thousands of Palestinian babies) and mass rape... is totally cool with a guy who *actually* beheaded/tortured pp and just lets israel bomb parts of Syria.
Shocking! Gee, it's almost like you tell yourself ISIS wasn't always aligned w/ Israel and that Israel has (for years) treated ISIS terrorists.
You sound crazy AF.
Wow.

Trump Meets Ex-Jihadist Who Now Leads Syria
President Trump’s conversation with President Ahmed al-Shara was the first time in 25 years that the leaders of the U.S. and Syria had met.
The encounter was also a stunning turnaround for Mr. al-Shara, an ex-militant who led the rebel alliance that ousted the dictator Bashar al-Assad in December, and who once led a branch of Al Qaeda before he broke ties with the jihadist group and sought to moderate his image. The United States designated Mr. al-Shara’s militant group as a terrorist organization, and it dropped its offer of a reward of up to $10 million for information on him just five months ago.
A statement from the Syrian Foreign Ministry described the meeting as “historic” and said that Mr. Trump had “affirmed that the administration in Washington is committed to playing a positive and constructive role during this sensitive period.”
