The quality is ok. You get a lot of travel players but it’s laid back, the fields are small and crap, and people don’t take it too serious. Boys has way more people tryout than girls but your son should be a lock and probably one of the best players if on Potomac first team.

How is the season? Do they only play in the fall? How many games/practices do they have? Do they compete solely against other middle schools or do they play other club teams too?

Middle school plays in the spring. It's only 5 or 6 games and just a relaxing fun environment.

I don’t know Tilden, but generally MS soccer in MoCo schools is limited to 7th and 8th graders, no matter how talented a kid is. This is more to do with making sure more kids get a chance to play than anything else. Also, the size differences can be very stark in MS and schools don’t want to put a 6th grade peanut up against a 6 foot 8th grader.

Hi!
I have a kid that is graduating elementary next month and will be attending Tilden Middle school. He has been playing at Potomac's top team for the past few years. We have no idea how middle school soccer works. I have heard that 1st year middle school students are not allowed to try out, but this info could be wrong.
How good/bad is middle school soccer in this area? Anyone has experience with this? Appreciate any opinions.
