NP, a HS sophomore wrote that article. The HS girls did not perform hands on surgery. They could have watched. They could have done a simulation or a preserved deceased animal. This was not by a human on a human surgery. Is that what you think???
Well, it's Kaiser and with the current state of healthcare in this country it's not implausible that they are recruiting HS kids to treat patients. LOL.

NP, exactly. Having an unlicensed person perform surgery is ripe for a lawsuit for both the facility and doctor in charge.

It is certainly quite the feather in one's cap to be able to perform surgery as a high schooler. That definitely adds some hook to you extra curriculars.

You aren't applying med school from high school. You don't need to prove your interest/ability in medicine. And being jealous of opportunities for questbridge is not a good look.

I know that some questbridge scholars were able to get summer internships where they performed hands on surgery. That is a big boost to your application.
