Really? Well, the coach is making somewhere around $25-$30K a year or more. So that can be half the cost right there. Field space in the DMV is very expensive- sometimes $100/hour or more. Assume 2-3 teams on the pitch, so you are looking at $6-8K per year per team. League fees are a few thousand, then tournament fees are somewhere around $1-2K per team per tournament. Then add overhead for team management, insurance, whatever app is used, VEO or trace costs... it adds up quickly.

Also remember you need to budget in the bribes. Best before U13. How else is that soccer coach affording the BMW sports car?

Make sure you ask what the tuition covers.

For SYC the fee is just the club fee. You will have to pay for each tournament and depending on the coach it could be 2-3 or it could be more. Also, you will have to pay for the coach's hotel, airfare, car and meals for some of the tournaments.

Yes, that's roughly what it costs... plus uniforms, unless that was included in your number

We are considering a spot on a travel team. However, $3,500 looks steep for 2-3 weekly practices and a few tournaments. Is this a normal cost for teenage years…?
