I need to quickly made some decisions to update my family room.

The walls will be SW Shoji White (it looks like a creamy white to me).
The two couches are navy blue.
I need curtains for the actual family room plus valances for the adjacent kitchen. They don't need to match, but they should coordinate.
The kitchen table is a medium wood with black chairs (very traditional). Cabinets are the ugly 80s orangey brown wood but they look rather French country (that's how the previous owners rolled). Black granite countertops and beige and cream stone backsplash. I'm wondering if something like this might work for the valances:

And perhaps a solid linen for the curtain panels in the family room? Or something else?
I need a coffee table--and it needs to be big/oversized and sturdy. The couches are PB Charleston (oversized, chunky).
I also have a large round skirted table with a glass topper as the end table (for a lamp). I'll need a new tablecloth. It was originally from Ballards Designs.
