This. It seems like a Happy Mothers Day text would be sufficient.

I also bought a card that said all the wonderful things that hallmark writes and sent it to my best friend’s mom w a genuine, heartfelt and personal handwritten message inside telling her how important she is to me bc she was more of a mom to me growing up than my own mother was.

Too bad you had to make the second card about you.

Clearly it’s difficult for you to find cards some you’re a narcissist living in an alternate reality.

I could have written your post. Luckily my mom’s birthday always falls near Mother’s Day so I usually get a birthday car or blank card instead. Some years I skip it altogether.

I loved my mom. She did sacrifice for us and she was there for us in ways her mother never was for her. She and I were very different yet she appreciated our differences and never made me feel that her way was better than my way.

I gave up on Hallmark Mother’s Day cards and just got a nice blank one and wrote what I felt.

Mother’s Day cards are just terrible, regardless of how you feel about your mother.

There should be cards that say,"So you gave birth." That's more fitting.

Agree, OP. Those preprinted messages are often so bad. Or inapplicable.

Why are you buying a card?

Why isn’t there just a “happy Mother’s Day” simple card? I literally spent 30 minutes at hallmark and walked away with a blank card instead of a Mother’s Day one. My mom was not the greatest, did not sacrifice anything and did not make me feel like the center of the universe. I definitely don’t think she gave her all or even a fraction of her all. I don’t want her to feel the power of love or feel like she is the most important person in my life. She didn’t shape me or give me any great advice. I would have bought a card that said she showed me what not to do in love and parenting.

I can’t be the only one who feels this way?
