In addition to sports already mentioned, my kids have also participated in rec cross country and rec track and field. The younger kid originally signed up because they were already going to be there with their older sib. Did not enjoy it. Was not signed up for the next 2 years. Then decided to participate this year and is enjoying it. So this is my plug for being open to going back to activities they’ve tried before.

I think new sports are best tried with friends. My DD tried lacrosse and volleyball because friends were doing them. Given your DD's parameters, volleyball may actually be good because it's indoors.

What sports has your son tried? Again, find a friend but you could try flag football/ultimate frisbee, which are active but not the usual soccer/baseball.

Soccer
Basketball
Baseball
Flag football
Ice skating/hockey
Ultimate frisbee
Tennis
Volleyball
Martial arts

I think that's it

One kid switched to travel soccer and the other still jumps around various rec teams.

Between my 3 kids:

- swimming
- soccer
- basketball
- softball
- ballet / tap
- gymnastics
- skating

All lessons or rec leagues, with the exception of softball which 2 of them have stuck with.

I recommend rugby for both of them

Between my three kids, in elementary school they tried: soccer, flag football, baseball, softball, basketball, martial arts, dance, gymnastics, summer swim, tennis lessons, mini triathalon club. I think that is everything.
