15-Year-Old Arrested at Gaithersburg High School for Loaded Handgun Possession
The Gaithersburg Police Department (GBPD) arrested a 15-year-old student at Gaithersburg High School on Thursday for possession of a loaded, privately manufactured handgun on school property.
According to GBPD, “On Thursday, May 8, 2025, at approximately 1:11 p.m., a Community Engagement Officer from the Gaithersburg Police Department was called to Gaithersburg High School located in the 100 block of Education Boulevard for an investigation. During the course of the investigation, officers and school staff made contact with the 15-year-old, and officers conducted a search, and located a loaded handgun. Based on the information provided and the recovery of the handgun, officers arrested the 15-year-old.
The 15-year-old was transported to the Gaithersburg Police Department station where he was charged with underage possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded handgun, possession of a dangerous weapon on school property, and possession of a firearm without a serial number.”
