Go with Arlington. The coaches there are 1000 times better. On both ends boys and girls. Don’t waste your money in Alexandria, coaches are mediocre for the most part and your kid won’t develop there. Stay away.

But there is still another tryout next week for Alexandria’s top team.

Alexandria works better for our family, closer to where we live, and my DS knows a kid on the team. Also, we were not especting the offer from Arlington so soon.

Is it fair to ask Arlington to extend the 48 hour deadline? Should I call the coach and explain the situation?

Be careful. As long as you realize there is no guarantee to play academy the following year, you’ll be fine. At the academy level, daggers are drawn and coaches bring in anyone that will up the team win record. So much for development at the club level.

But why do Arlington? ECNL is a shell of its former self. More like NCSL.

MLSNext. This is the way.

You can ignore it. They will follow-up and that will buy you some time.

You can also buy time by asking to practice with the team so you can get a feel for the environment.

We played against 2014 Alexandria Red 2x and my son knows a few from camps.

Great set of kids who play a nice brand of ball.

I have not seen Arlington’s 2014’s play but they have some great coaches my son has enjoyed learning from.

Did you already do a try out with Alexandria? If so you might want to talk to the Alexandria coach or go thru the friend to find out how realistic the chances are to make Alexandria's top team. Although the two teams are around the same level they may be looking for 2 completely different types of players.

Go Alexandria. Your kid has a friend there. Good coaches and development. If you are unsure, email the coach and ask him to attend a practice.

Depends how much you want to travel on weekends. You are going to be making a lot of weekend trips to NJ/PA with Alexandria for U12 playing edp and Acela league. Most of Arlington’s games will be in nova That may be easier for you than the extra 15 minute drive to long bridge 3 days a week.

Just sit tight for now. There is no time limit. Do not contact anyone.
