Seems fine for what it is. 3K for a place that allows pets 2 streets from the beach isn't going to get you a high end place. It's dated and I would bet a bit musty, but I would hardly call it nasty.

You get what you pay for. Unfortunately, a decent rental is minimum $7K/week for the summer. Usually closer to $10K. It's insane, but what can you do? I've often wondered why people just don't fly to a Caribbean all-inclusive -- it would actually be cheaper. But then again, we spend the $10K every year (despite me bringing up the Caribbean option), so I guess convenience matters a lot.
