Does anyone have any good recommendations for a math and writing tutor in the DC area? Someone familiar with the rigor and curriculum at Maret, GDS, St. Albans, NCS, Sidwell, etc. would be great!

There is a steady stream of NCS girls being tutored for math by the STA faculty. If you are on the Close I'd ask around who they are using now.

Do you have to pay for the STA faculty tutoring?

Out tutor charges $60/hr for in-person Spanish lessons. He also teaches elementary school level math.

We are currently working with a very good tutor we found on Wyzant. He’s local to us and his rates are reasonable.

Many of this board recommended I go to Wyzant. I found a great math tutor there.

We found that Wyzant worked well. It is not the same as a local tutor recommended by someone you know. But, it made it very easy to sort by cost, expertise, and schedule.
