People just aren't spending. You know it's bad when McDonald's posts of Q1 loss and Five Guys creates a value meal.

Every free event in this area is swamped. The rescue group I volunteer with does a pet festival in Leesburg each year at Village of Leesburg shopping center. The festival is 100% free and has free activities for kids, too, like face painting, balloons, etc. I was there on Saturday - the event didn't even start until 12 - and it was packed at 11:30 when we were finalizing setup. We usually take 200 freebies to give out and we blew through those in the first hour. There were more people there without pets than were there with pets this year. I don't blame them, either! A good, free way to get the kids out of the house before the storms set in. Even with the increase in attendance, we still adopted out the same number of dogs as in previous years.

What materials will the factories be constructed with? Do the engineers needed already exist? What about all the skilled labor needed to build these factories? How long until we get them up to speed? All the equipment and machinery needed are at the ready?

Are you confused? I’m fine with cutting back on consumer spending less is the opposite of a shot in the arm for a faltering economy.

But the 1/6 of the federal workforce that is healthcare workers aren't going to work in factories for you. There are too many places crying for their employment.

And neither are the lawyers, or LEOs, or many others, especially when we just have to wait this out for a few years until the US stops taking bad acid. Sorry.
