OP here: I know I was there in 2001 and same thing. I don't mind pre getting tickets just hate that they don't all have the same requirements so i can't just plan everything in advance.

I hear ya. My husband and I went in 2000 and walked right in. Fast forward to 2018 and we waited in line for an hour and a half and gave up after the long line had only moved about 3 feet. Next time, we know to plan and purchase ahead of time.

DP here. What else would you get tickets for during a quick 3 day summer trip to Paris with teens (among other cities.) Should we take a macaron class? A few have mentioned that.

So from my understanding. Tickets open 7 days before to the hour. So at 10 Paris time tickets open at 10am 7 days out and that occurs every 15 mins onward. It looks like you can only buy 5 tickets at a time and we need 6. So two questions

1) how quick do they sell out in summer

2) does anyone know how many tickets they have available per time slot. I guess but 4 and 2 or some mixture to ensure no one is alone. But was wondering what chances are I can get 6 tickets same time. I know that if I look now there are seemingly options but I have no idea how many tickets are available for each time and its May. We go in July so I assume busier.

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
