A lot of big ecommerce sites use demand pricing tools, so the pricing automatically adjusts depending on the demand for each size/color/item.

Prices have never been rational.

Prices are made up, everywhere.

Our old neighbor used to build houses. He said, “what’s the price of that house, or that house? It’s made up, it’s whatever you want, and whatever someone will pay for it.”

Target doesn’t need to have rational prices. Supply and demand go into it more than actual fabric costs.
