Go to the hardware store. Buy an exterior spray for ants. Spray your home perimeter next to the foundation. Also do doorways. Walk the perimeter every week and spray any ant trails you see. Avoid piles of leaves and debris against the foundation of your house.
While in the store also buy an indoor people/pet friendly option. I used to get something, but cannot remember the name.
Sorry no product names, I moved out of my “ant” house years ago.
The key is to start treating as soon as you see a single ant in your house or an ant trail on your exterior. It took me a couple spring seasons to realize this!

I’ve heard advion is crazy and works well but apparently highly poisonous to the ant colonies. Some things I read on Reddit scared me but I’m prepared to try it if ants are back too soon!
